The Industrial Era has brought a complicated change in the Ecosystem that also affected the human species. The industries began to work intensively and indiscriminately the natural resources, extracting the raw materials to make their products, to generate energy, etc... As if this was not enough, the remainders  from the production began to contaminate the underground, rivers, earth, atmosphere. In order to get better working conditions, man settled around the greatest industrial poles,Those densely populated zones began to generate enormous amounts of garbage.

However, industries are not the only ones that should take the blame. The improvement in the quality of life, with an  increasing level of consumption, have also played a preponderant part in this problem of contamination: more consumption, more rubbish.

Statistics reveal
that between 1 and 1.5kg of waste is produced per inhabitant daily. For example, a city of 1,000,000 inhabitants produces up to 1,500 tons of waste per day.

It was not until the 1950s that environmentalist groups and organisations got involved in this subject warning the world about the Earth’s health. From that time onward and particularly in the 70s, important movements tried to raise awareness on present and future risks.Since then, the protection of the environment has not been a matter related only to the most contaminating areas, to became in an universal cause.Nowadays this new awareness can be seen in all aspects of everyday life. Re-use and recycle are familiar words.

At present, high industrially and commercially  countries, recycle enormous amounts of waste. In the United States, for example, the equivalent to 720kg of waste per habitant is recycled annually. This  principally includes  glass and cardboard.

While plastic (at the moment turned into fuels), rubber and metal are re-used, organic sweepings  go on piling up, burying or burning rubbish. Organic waste is a serious problem today and a great threat. This perspective obliged many states in the world,  to take steps to reduce the environmental impact of the end of the past century and the beginnings of this one.Between the possible solutions VERMICULTURE is one.

Recycling is the process by which waste products are re-used.

WORMS Argentina has the methods and the knowledge necessary to offer  recycling systems of organic material which are convenient for your industry or establishment.

If organic waste has become a problem for you, you will certainly become interested in our proposals. WORMS Argentina will plan and develop a system according to each particular situation, through their programs IBOP.
